Our Mission

Better Place Wellness Company, PBC

A Different Kind of Clinical Technology Company

By law, a Public Benefit Corporation is required to balance financial interests with a specific public benefit stated in its charter. For us that's fostering healthier human relationships.

We organized Better Place Wellness as a PBC because we believe that companies supporting clinical care should be accountable to more than revenue growth. The clinicians and patients who depend on our software deserve a company whose obligations to them are written into its founding documents, and treated with reverence in every decision we make.

Article 4: Certificate of Incorporation

“Better Place Wellness’s specific public benefit purpose is to foster healthier human relationships. Better Place Wellness shall pursue this purpose through the delivery of innovative, data driven behavioral health technologies that measurably improve patient outcomes and enable clinicians to deliver life changing care.”

What This Means for Clinicians

Most practice management software is designed to optimize scheduling, billing, and documentation. Those are important operational problems, but solving them is not the same as supporting real clinical outcomes.

Our charter directs us to enable clinicians in delivering life-changing care. That shapes what we build and, just as importantly, what we choose not to build. Features that increase administrative noise rather than improve the clinicians' workflows do not meet our standard.

What This Means for Patients

Our charter also requires measurably improved patient outcomes. We take that language seriously. It means the bar for our product is not adoption or engagement. It is whether the people receiving care through our platform are actually getting better.

We focus on populations facing severe depression, postpartum mental health challenges, and episodic crises. These are high-stakes clinical contexts where the efficacy of supporting technology matters.

How We Are Different

Practice management is a crowded category. Most platforms converge on a similar set of capabilities: scheduling, notes, telehealth, billing. Some have added AI features. Relatively few offer high-quality patient engagement.

Digital therapeutics are an emergent class of medicine. Most solutions in this space do not integrate with a patient's existing care team. Instead, they provide their own third-party therapeutic solutions. We don't believe that is the way to effectively treat high-prevalence medical conditions at scale.

The takeaway is that most solutions in this space are either clinical or patient-centered point solutions. We deliver a unique, clinically integrated set of tools that enable clinicians and patients to engage like never before.
